Family Quests

Privacy policy

Draft (2026-10-30-draft-2). This hasn't had a legal review yet and will be updated before launch.

Family Quests helps families build real-world skills together. Parents run the account and make every decision about their kids' information. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and how you stay in control.

Who has an account

Only parents and guardians sign up. Kids never get an email, password or account of their own. Their profiles belong to your family and only the parents in your family can see them. A parent gives consent for their kids' information before adding a kid.

What we collect

  • About you: your email, a password (stored securely by our sign-in provider), your name and family name.
  • About each kid: a nickname, a birth year, the avatar they pick, and the name and theme they pick for their base from a fixed list. Nothing else.
  • What your kids do in the app: quests sent, your reviews and notes, skills mastered, coins and rewards.
  • Quest photos and voice notes your kids choose to send. Photos are shrunk on the device first, which strips hidden data such as location.
  • Your kid-mode PIN, stored only as a one-way hash.
  • When you agreed to this policy, and which version.
  • If you subscribe: a payment customer record with our payment provider. We never see or store your card.

How we use it

Only to run Family Quests for your family: showing your kids' skill map, sending quests to you for review, keeping track of coins and rewards, sending you a weekly summary if you want one, and handling your subscription. We don't use it for advertising and we don't sell or share it.

Photos and voice notes

They're stored privately for your family and only shown to signed-in parents in your family through links that expire after a few minutes. They're deleted automatically after the period you choose in Settings (30 days after review unless you change it), or when you delete a kid or your account.

Who helps us run the service

  • Supabase: database, sign-in and private file storage.
  • Vercel: hosting the app.
  • Stripe: subscription payments (parents only). Stripe gets your email, not your kids' information.
  • Resend: sending the weekly digest email. It sees your email and your kids' nicknames.

What we don't do

  • No ads, and no third-party trackers or analytics on kids' screens.
  • No contact with anyone outside your family, and no social features.
  • No prices, upgrade offers or payments in kid mode.

Your choices and rights

  • See everything about your kids in the parent area.
  • Turn the weekly digest off in Settings or from any digest email.
  • Choose how long photos and voice notes are kept.
  • Delete a kid's profile, or your whole family's account, in Settings. Deletion removes the data straight away and can't be undone.
  • Ask us any question about your family's information by email (contact address to be added before launch).
